Article By Ahmed Quraishi The Politicians – Zardari, Gilani, Rehman, Nawaz – Refuse To Condemn The Terrorism Of ’s Grandson & His US/Indian Backed Terrorists In Afghanistan

Terrorists claiming to represent Pakistani Balochis are planning to declare ‘independence’ on 11 August 2009, according to BRASSTACKS. It will not change much on the ground but these terrorists and their supporters in Kabul, New Delhi and within CIA will score a major point against Islamabad. The pro-US government in Islamabad and even the Pakistani opposition are courting Washington and are silent on this emerging threat to the Pakistani state. No Pakistani politician is ready to call Akbar Bugti or Kabul-based Brahamdagh or London-based Harbyar Mari by their real designation as terrorists. Both President Zardari and Mr. Nawaz Sharif are silent accomplices in what they believe is a good opportunity to weaken the grip of the Pakistani military. Plans are also underway to create a ‘Pakistani Kurdistan’. Interior Minister Rehman Malik is yet to accuse Britain of giving safe haven to terrorists.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—A college chemistry professor is murdered in cold blood at his house’s doorstep in Quetta, the latest in a long list of educationists cowardly assassinated by terrorists claiming to stand for the great Pakistani Baloch. These terrorists, backed by Brahamdagh Bugti and his paid mercenaries sponsored by India and the Karzai regime with US military turning a blind eye, have kidnapped 22 police officers. A terrorist group that calls itself Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) has slaughtered four of them and dumped their bodies in public places. Despite all these acts of terrorism by the grandson of politician-turned-terrorist Akbar Bugti, no one in the pro-US federal and provincial governments is willing to condemn the terrorists. Last month these terrorists planted a bomb on a train leaving Karachi and detonated it just half an hour away from Quetta, killing an innocent Pakistani Baloch. No condemnation then too.

The sheepish and apologetic attitude of the Pakistani government is inexplicable. Last month this government gave the Indians and the Americans damning proof on how Indian spy outfits were using the Afghan provinces of Helmand and Kandahar to target Balochistan. As much as eight foreign spy agencies are cramming this Pakistani territory. Yet the Pakistani state is reluctant to call a spade a spade. The pro-US government’s chief minister in Balochistan Nawab Asalm Raisani is on record having said to reporters a few months ago, “I don’t know if there is foreign involvement in the province. Go ask those who say there is.” Obviously, in his many meetings with President Zardari, Prime Minister Gilani and Interior Minister Rehman Malik, no one cared to share with him the photographs of Brahamdagh Bugti cavorting with the Indians and Karzai’s men not just in Kabul but in New Delhi. A better explanation is that the feudal-politicians of Balochistan, like their kin in the rest of the Pakistani politics, are ready to accept a separated Balochistan in the hope that this somehow will help weaken the grip of the Pakistani military and forever stain it in the eyes of its own people.

Here is what is happening on this front:

1. Reports are emerging that Harbyar Mari, a terrorist given sanctuary and protection by the British government, is preparing to declare the ‘independence’ of Balochistan. The date for this declaration has been set as 11 August, according to an alert issued by BRASSTACKS, a Pakistani security and defense analysis think tank run by eminent expert Zaid Hamid.

2. This comes with reports that the Zardari government is preparing to grant ‘full autonomy’ to Balochistan within the Pakistani federation. In essence, this means Pakistan will soon have its own version of Iraq’s Kurdistan. Considering the volatile security situation in the region and the active interest of both the Americans and Indians in wresting Balochistan from Pakistani hands, this would prove to be a kiss of death for Pakistan’s national integrity. The US media is quiet these days on the so-called Greater Pashtunistan, but in the last two years, the US media leaked story after story on the feasibility of this option. These leaked reports reflected an organized campaign by people within Pentagon and CIA. This campaign ceased only after protests by Pakistani officials. Another reason why this campaign stopped is to give some space to unknown ‘terrorists’ who have infiltrated from Afghanistan to Pakistan under the guise of the so-called Pakistani Taliban. The Kabul regime and its Indian and American allies were hoping that the death and mayhem created among Pakistani Pashtuns would be enough to rally the Pashtun of both Pakistan and Afghanistan to demand an independent country. Luckily, the Pakistani Pashtun, who are an important and active part of the Pakistani society and the power structure, understood the game and refused to play along despite enticements coming from inside the Afghan territory.

3. According to BRASSTACKS, the US government has requested the Zardari government to give part of the Balochistan coastal are to the US Navy to construct a port that would serve the US occupation forces in Afghanistan. Surprisingly, the Zardari government is actually considering the option. Mr. Zardari is also eager to get back at China, which refused to financially bail out his corrupt pro-American government. China financed part of the Gwadar project.

4. Meanwhile the potential of the Gwadar port has almost been destroyed and it is a matter of time before Pakistan’s inept politicians turn it into another irretrievable mess. First Akbar Bugti and his foreign-supported terrorists attacked the project. Now the political parties in power are playing their usual games over the project in the hope of milking maximum kickbacks. So far the Zardari government is yet to commit funds for the remaining parts of the Gwadar port expansion. This happens while the Indians have completed and operationalized the competing Iranian port of Chah Bahar. The US surprisingly permitted Iranian and Indian companies to build roads in eastern Afghanistan connecting the Indian port despite the American aversion to anything that benefits Iran.

5. Balochistan is an American target. Pakistani politicians and some people within the Pakistani security establishment should make no mistake about it. CIA is supporting Sunni Balochis in Iran while backing an ethnic insurgency in Pakistan. It is not a coincidence that Jundullah in Iran and BLA in Pakistan emerged after the arrival of US military and CIA in Afghanistan, in the past five years to be more specific. Before 2004, there was no BLA or Jundullah anywhere.

6. Washington continues to refuse to declare the so-called Balochistan Liberation Army a terrorist group despite the fact that this group has claimed responsibility for killing countless college professors and other civilians in random acts of terror in Pakistan over the past five years. Some Pakistani analysts cite strong circumstantial evidence that the CIA is running operations in the area that may not be in the full knowledge of the new US administration and may in fact contradict the stated US policy of not supporting terrorism and covert operations against allies.

The ‘Bugti Hero Brigade’ of Zardari-Gilani-Nawaz-Altaf

Instead of putting a politician-turned-terrorist on a pedestal, it is time to ask the question: Was Mr. Akbar Bugti acting on foreign guarantees when he launched without notice a blitzkrieg of rocket fire on vital installations one fine morning in January 2005?

There is enough evidence now that confirms the thesis that Mr. Bugti was dealing directly with the Indians and Karzai’s people. His grandson Brahamdagh moves around in Kabul under the protection of Karzai’s security. There is also evidence that some tribal chieftains in Balochistan were promised they would live like Gulf Arab sheikhs in a new entity carved out of southwest Pakistan if they supported the Bugti terrorist movement.

Why does the provincial government of Nawab Aslam Raisani avoid condemning these terrorists? More stunning is the reply of Interior Minister Rehman Malik in the Senate when questioned about how a Pakistani television station was allowed to air an interview with a London-based member of the Brahamdagh terror group. Mr. Malik said the interview was taped in London and “you know there is freedom of speech there.”

What a joke. Britain is providing a sanctuary to people who finance and support terrorism inside Pakistan and all our powerful security czar can say about this is to cite Britain’s speech laws. Is there a conflict of interest here between Mr. Malik’s personal life and interests in the UK and his official duty to level with the Brits on their duplicitous policy?

The terrorist acts and the new evidence is a great opportunity to delegitimize the terrorists who claim to own Balochistan. But our usually bland and uncreative political elite is incapable of encashing this opportunity.

Major grievances aside, there is no direct discrimination against Pakistani Baloch on ethno-language grounds from anyone in the rest of the country. The level of education of Pakistani Baloch denies them opportunities to climb the social ladder. And the blame for this rests squarely with both the federal government and Balochistan’s tribal chieftains. The landlord-feudal politicians of Pakistan are responsible for compounding the problems of Pakistanis everywhere. And there is no hope in sight that those running the federal government – PPP now or PML in the future – can change anything on the ground.

The Solution

Pakistan needs a practical, nationalistic and visionary federal administration that can take monumental steps to reorganize the State and provinces.

These are the major long-term steps that Islamabad needs to take to arrest the push toward Balkanization:

1. Instead of autonomy, the four ethnic-based provinces of Pakistan need to be turned into smaller administrative provinces with their own small parliaments and directly elected governors. This will break national politics into smaller pieces and refocus the people’s attention on local politics and development issues instead of the destructive national politics we see today.

2. Ban ethnic-, language- and sectarian-based political parties.

3. Introduce capital punishment for corruption and treason.

4. Ban the conduct of ‘private foreign policy’ by politicians and political parties with foreign governments.

5. Seize the vast land holdings of the landlord-political elite and empower the more creative and capable lower and middle class Pakistanis to step forward.

6. Forcibly democratize the family-owned political parties of Pakistan.

The big question is: Who will do this? Interestingly, a group of eminent Pakistanis with no political affiliations has come together to answer this question. Members of the group have assigned themselves to developing an out-of-the-box answer to one question: How to enact these difficult reforms outside the realm of the chaotic Pakistani democratic process? This group is expected to soon make its findings public.

Pakistan needs creative minds at the top to unlock the initiative of its people. We need change. But let’s begin with condemning the terrorists who have taken ownership of Balochistan without any contest from the pro-US government in Islamabad.

By AHMED QURAISHI
ALERT: A Pakistani Government Official Caught Telling Brahamdagh Bugti: ‘Declare Balochistan Independence While You Still Have A Chance

This hard evidence adds to the existing circumstantial evidence that some foreign governments have successfully cultivated high-level moles in Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Pakistan’s Balochistan province is under attack. Pakistanis should be in no doubt now and must begin to question their government. And question it hard.

This is the latest:

-         A stunning telephone conversation between a Pakistani official and Indian-backed terrorists in Balochistan;
-         Permission for US Marines to land on Pakistan’s southwestern coastal area in a mock invasion;

<ins></ins>

o- And a consortium of three western companies want to circumvent Gwadar and get government’s approval for a mini-seaport instead.

These are three startling developments that point not just to criminal negligence on the part of the elected federal Pakistani government but to collusion at some high level within the Pakistani government. We know that a few who claim to represent Pakistani Balochis are completely sold out to the agenda of two or three countries in the region. What is new is connivance in Islamabad. If something is going to happen to Pakistan’s Balochistan, it will not be possible without inside help.

Alarmingly, this follows the credible information that a group of foreign-backed terrorists who claim to represent Pakistani Baloch are planning in coordination with at least two foreign governments to declare the ‘independence’ of Pakistan’s Balochistan province three days before Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations on 14 August. The move, if happens, won’t change anything on the ground but would a score a point for the anti-Pakistan forces gathered on Afghan soil.

Let’s get into the details of the latest alert:

1. US MARINES IN BALOCHSITAN: According to an alert today by BRASSTACKS, an Islamabad-based security monitoring center, and I quote: “The US Marine Corps has reportedly been allowed [by the Pakistani government] to land around Makran coast in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The pretext is that the marines are conducting some anti-narcotics exercise in Afghanistan and the supposed landing in Pakistan’s Balochistan is part of that exercise. The timing is not only dangerous but could pose a srious threat to Pakistani national security because the rulers in Islamabad have allowed the US Marine landing at a time when the US has stationed a large number of troops in the Afghan province of Helmand bordering the Balochistan province of Pakistan.”

2. A MOLE IN ISLAMABAD: A senior member of the elected federal government in Islamabad urged Brahamdagh Bugti in a telephone conversation recently to expedite the declaration of independence “while you have the chance.” The said official is a senior member of the government. If this tape were to be released publicly, the said official could face treason charges. The irony is that the said official often makes strong statements about defending Pakistan’s national integrity and strategic interests against the anti-Pakistan forces gathered on the Afghan soil.

3. A WESTERN COMMERTIAL SEAPORT: The third interesting activity in Balochistan has to do with the three western companies. One of them is the Tethyan Copper of Australia in collaboration with Canadian mining firm and another from Chile, (all have joint ownership of the copper-gold deposit at Reko Diq in Balochistan. According to BRASSTACKS, the three companies want to build an exclusive small port (commercial jetty) near Gwadar port some 30 miles towards Karachi. One or more of them also have Israeli links of some sort, most probably in terms of equity, which is in itself should make this the concern of national security experts in Pakistan because of the growing Israeli covert role in the region, which is not documented by the western media but is well known to Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and other countries in the region.
According to the BRASSTACKS alert, this project for “an exclusive small port-like facility indeed should be looked upon with high suspicion. The main question here is: Why the small port in the presence of a new modern port like Gwadar in close proximity? Who will be using this new port facility apart from these companies? What will be the security plan for this jetty and who will be looking after the security? Foreigners from native countries of the three companies will freely use this new mini-seaport.”

This situation will represent a grave security breach from Pakistan’s standpoint, particularly in an area like Balochistan that already is the focus of third-country-sponsored terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.

To quote the BRASSTACKS alert:

“To understand the entire situation and the security concerns for Pakistan linked with demand of these foreign companies, the background of all these companies is a must to looked into. Reko Diq is a small town in Chagai District, Baluchistan having the world´s largest Gold and Copper reserves. According to reports US $ 65 Billion natural deposit have been sold for US $ 21 Billion to Tethyan Copper of Australia which has taken the contract to develop this mine while Barrick Gold Corporation of Canada (a Jewish company) and Antofagasta of Chile have a joint-ownership of the copper-gold deposit at Reko Diq. The Reko Diq deposit is being explored by Tethyan Copper Company Pty Ltd (75%) and the (BDA) Balochistan Development Authority (25%). Tethyan Copper Company is held jointly (50:50) by Barrick Gold Corporation and Antofagasta Minerals. So far, three foreign companies have purchased stakes in the strategic copper and gold assets setting off a cycle of `change of foreign ownership´ of Reko Diq copper project. Pakistan has only 25 per cent stake in the Reko Diq copper project. The rest of the 75 per cent stakes had first been transferred to BHP Billiton, the Anglo-Australian mining giant and then BHP Billiton under a `deed of waiver and consent´ transferred it to the Australian TCC and now TCC has sold its 19.95 per cent stake to Antofagasta Minerals.”

Pakistan’s strategic southwestern province of Balochistan is facing a real, focused threat. The federal Pakistani government, controlled by individuals with strong links to Washington, are showing criminal negligence in this regard. The government has so far failed to put Britain on the spot for providing sanctuary for terrorists committing arson and terrorism inside Balochistan and openly calling for the breakup of the Pakistani state.

To provide media cover and legitimacy to these terrorists, strong lobbies in Washington and New Delhi are trying to use the media to revive the debate on how Pakistan became independent from Britain and how Balochistan ‘acceded’ to the new nation.

We do not have much trust in the capability of the Pakistani government to rise to the occasion. But to the national security practitioners and experts and the managers of the state foreign policy and public diplomacy, it is important that Pakistan not be drawn into this debate.

Pakistan is a reality. We cannot and will not revisit events going back half a century or more in time just because this happens to suit the strategic interests of the United States, NATO, or India.

Islamabad needs to question why the governments of Britain, India and the United States are supporting terrorism in Pakistan through indirect support to terrorists claiming unilateral representation of a large segment of the Pakistani nation.

The marriage took place on May 28 in London with the couple quietly slipping out of Islamabad, the ‘Jang’ newspaper reported.

Quoting the reliable sources, the report said that Asif has assured Veena to announce the marriage publicly once his cricket career is back on track and he is selected in the Pakistan team for the forthcoming Champions Trophy in South Africa. Asif is presently serving a 12-month ban for failing a dope test in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League last year. He was also fined Rs one million by the Pakistan Cricket Board for possessing opium that landed him in 19 days of detention in Dubai airport.

However, the PCB has made it clear that the cricketer would be considered for the Champions Trophy.
The report also said that Veena, who became famous after hosting a comedy show on Geo television and is now hosting her own programme on another channel, has footed the bill of the legal expenses incurred by Asif fighting his recent cases related to the IPL dope test and Dubai detention.

According to reliable sources, the wedding took place on May 28. Veena Malik had left for London with Asif while wearing a burqa from the Islamabad airport. Asif gave Veena a car as a gift on her birthday, while Veena bore Asif’s expenses including the fee of the lawyers he had hired in connection with cases relating to his cricketing career.

It is divulged that Asif had assured Veena that he would make public their marriage on his return to the national cricket team in September. It may be noted that Veena Malik has ended her interaction with the press following the revelation of this news.

If you fall into one of those groups, chances are you’re already following the tried-and-true rules for a good night’s sleep: Don’t have too much caffeine (especially late in the day), don’t exercise late at night, keep your bedroom at a cool, comfortable temperature, and make sure your bed, pillows and linens are comfy. Those are all good tips, but there are lesser-known things you can try to help you get more rest.

1. Set a Bedtime Alert
Most of us already use an alarm to wake up in the morning, but sleep expert Michael Breus, PhD, author of Beauty Sleep: Look Younger, Lose Weight, and Feel Great Through Better Sleep, suggests setting it at night as well. “I tell people to set their alarm for one hour before bedtime, which reminds them to begin what I call the power-down hour,” says Dr. Breus, who is also a spokesman for the Zeo Personal Sleep Coach. He says you should spend the first 20 minutes of that hour taking care of any necessary chores (like walking the dog or making your kids’ lunches), then spend the next 20 minutes on hygiene (washing up, brushing your teeth, etc.), and save the last 20 minutes before bed for relaxation. You don’t necessarily have to meditate, if that doesn’t appeal to you; you can also do deep breathing exercises, read a book or even watch a little TV (as long as it’s not too stimulating).

2. Don’t Clear Your Mind
Experts say anxiety and depression top the list of reasons people have trouble sleeping. Part of the problem is that many of us just can’t seem to quiet that internal voice that starts rambling on about the worries of the day. Of course, if you can clear your mind, go ahead and do it. But if that’s impossible, don’t force it–you’ll only end up panicking about the fact that you’re not sleeping, says Paul McKenna, PhD, author of the soon-to-be-released book I Can Make You Sleep. Instead, try slowing down your thoughts. “Practice saying anything and everything that comes into your mind to yourself in a slow, monotonous, drowsy tone,” says Dr. McKenna. It doesn’t matter if you’re thinking about what to buy tomorrow at the grocery store or how a big presentation at work is going to go. If you slow everything down and talk to yourself in an even tone, you’ll find it’s that much harder to keep worrying (or stay awake).

3. Count Numbers–Not Sheep
Another great way to quiet those racing thoughts is to count backward from 300 by 3s, says Dr. Breus. Unless you’re a math ace, you probably won’t be able to focus on anything else while you’re doing this, which means you’ll end up distracting yourself from your stressful thoughts.

4. Get Up a Half-Hour Earlier
Yes, you read that right! If you’re suffering from chronic insomnia, try getting up, for example, at 6:30 instead of your usual 7 wakeup time–no matter what time you fell asleep the night before. You may be extra-sleepy for a little while, but this is hands-down the most effective way to reset your body clock, says Dr. McKenna. It works because it teaches your body that it can’t catch up on sleep in the morning, so eventually you’ll start feeling drowsier earlier in the evening.

5. Consider Seeing a Professional
A sleep psychologist is someone who specializes in gathering info about your emotions and your behaviors specifically as they relate to sleep. Often found at sleep centers, a sleep psychologist can usually help resolve your sleep issues in just four to six sessions, says Joseph Ojile, MD, founder of the Clayton Sleep Institute in St. Louis and a spokesman for the National Sleep Foundation.

6. Don’t Worry If You Can’t Sleep Right Away
You shouldn’t pass out the second your head hits the pillow. If that happens all the time, it’s a sign that you’re sleep deprived. (Ditto for nodding off during boring meetings and long movies.) Ideally, it should take 15 to 25 minutes from when you lie down to when you drift off to sleep, says Dr. Breus.

7. Go to Bed When You’re Tired
If you’re having ongoing sleep troubles, don’t worry so much about the fact that it’s almost midnight and you have to get up in less than seven hours. Forcing yourself to stay in bed when you’re not sleepy is just going to contribute to more tossing and turning, says Dr. Ojile. Instead, get up, do something relaxing, and go back to bed whenever you do feel tired. You might end up exhausted the next day (but that was bound to happen either way under these circumstances), and the following night you should have better luck getting to bed earlier.

Have you ever loved somebody so much
It makes you cry
Have you ever needed something so bad
You can’t sleep at night
Have you ever tried to find the words
But they don’t come out right
Have you ever have you ever

Have you ever been in love
Been in love so bad
You’d do anything to make them understand
Have you ever had someone steal your heart away
You’d give anything to make them feel the same
Have you ever searched for words to get you in their heart
But you don’t know what to say
And you don’t know where to start

[Chorus:]
Have you ever loved somebody so much
It makes you cry
Have you ever needed something so bad
You can’t sleep at night
Have you ever tried to find the words
But they don’t come out right
Have you ever have you ever

Have you ever found the one
You’ve dreamed of all your life
You’d do just about anything to look into their eyes
Have you finally found the one you’ve given your heart to
Only to find the one won’t give their heart to you
Have you ever closed your eyes and
Dreamed that they were there
And all you can do is wait for the day that they will care

[Chorus:]
Have you ever loved somebody so much
It makes you cry
Have you ever needed something so bad
You can’t sleep at night
Have you ever tried to find the words
But they don’t come out right
Have you ever have you ever ever ever

[Bridge:]
What do I gotta do to get you in my arms baby
What do I gotta say to get to your heart
To make you understand how I need you next to me
Gotta get you in my world
‘Cause baby I can’t sleep

[Chorus X 2:]
Have you ever loved somebody so much
It makes you cry
Have you ever needed something so bad
You can’t sleep at night
Have you ever tried to find the words
But they don’t come out right
Have you ever

Have you ever loved somebody so much
It makes you cry
Have you ever needed something so bad
You can’t sleep at night
Have you ever tried to find the words
But they don’t come out right
Have you ever have you ever

Have you ever, ever, ever
Have you ever

When I’m with you
When I’m with you
When I’m with you you you
You.. when I’m with you

What good’s a memory
Without you there with me
The morning sun ain’t the same
Without you here
You are the summer breeze
The wind blowing through the trees
You make the loneliness
All just disappear

Nothing replaces your touch
Never stop believing in us
They try to break us
But we stand strong in love
They’ll be no distance too far
I gotta be where you are
(right where you are)

I don’t wanna face this world alone
Without you by my side
You’re the only one
That makes it feel like home
And I need you in my life
When you’re not around I’m feeling
Like a piece of me is missing
When it feels like the day is closing in
Somehow I find the faith
To make it through

When I’m with you
When I’m with you
When I’m with you you you
You.. when I’m with you

What’s a photograph
If you’re not in the other half
Why even dream
If I’m not dreaming of you
You make me a better man
Promise I’ll do all I can
Your love keeps me bringing me
Closer to the truth

Nothing replaces your touch
Never stop believing in us
They try to break us
But we stand strong in love
They’ll be no distance too far
I gotta be where you are
(right where you are)

I don’t wanna face this world alone
Without you by my side
You’re the only one
That makes it feel like home
And I need you in my life
When you’re not around I’m feeling
Like a piece of me is missing
When it feels like the day is closing in
Somehow I find the faith
To make it through

When I’m with you
When I’m with you
When I’m with you you you

When I’m with you
When I’m with you
When I’m with you you you

Hey

I questioned whether time or fate
Would ever show me a sign
The moment I saw you
That’s when I knew

I feel it when I’m with you

I don’t wanna face this world alone
Without you by my side
You’re the only one
That makes it feel like home
And I need you in my life
When you’re not around I’m feeling
Like a piece of me is missing
When it feels like the day is closing in
Somehow I find the faith
To make it through
When I’m with you
When I’m with you
When I’m with you you you
When I’m with you
When I’m with you
When I’m with you you you

When I’m with you
